Our client is the UKs largest privately owned powder coatings manufacturer who excels in formulation and supply of powder coatings for electrostatic application. They manufacturer a variety of different types of powder coating finishes to meet the market requirements.  Their range of speciality powder coatings includes antibacterial powders, architectural powders, epoxy polyester powders, epoxy powders, polyester powders, nylon modified powders and post forming powders.  Our client also provides a bespoke colour matching service where their dedicated technical team will provide specialist colour matching.

An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated individual to support the Technical Manager in the overseeing of the Quality function in the laboratory and across the site and to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. 

Role and Responsibilities
•    Responsible for managing and maintaining ISO9001 and ISO14001 management systems 
•    Maintain and monitor the LUS (Legal update service) system
•    To review/approve specifications, methods of analysis and other quality control procedures.
•    Responsible for Laboratory operations and staff. 
•    Responsible for day today laboratory QC on products
•    Manage production operatives and laboratory technicians responsible for in-process checking and final inspection
•    Manage quarantine and rework area
•    Manage customer complaints via CRM. Ensuring actions are taken in a timely manner and any root causes identified to prevent reoccurrence 
•    Requisition laboratory equipment as required and manage servicing and calibration of the equipment
•    Manage the use of laboratory equipment and analysis and reports required
•    Analyze internal failure data and identify improvements actions and support the implementation of the actions
•    Seek improvements in QC and laboratory processes
•    Action the LEAN improvement plan
•    Familiarisation with customer specifications and their required test methods and recording systems for test results as well as correctly carrying out required tests after review of appropriate documentation.
•    Ensure timely and effective communication and escalation process to raise quality issues to the appropriate levels of management.

Salary is in the region of £40,000
