R&D Engineer - Technical Support - Product Manager

Our Client, located on the South Coast, is the leading specialist distributor of cold applied road markings, evolving away from traditional hot applied and carbon intensive systems to alternatives which are safer in their application and less carbon intensive.

They are seeking a R&D Engineer who will support their current and ‘in development’ projects. This is a hands-on role where the individual will collaborate across all stakeholders, instigate, drive and own an array of projects which are focused on different line marking technologies, machines and applications as well as cold applied road/surface repair and reinstatement systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Run product demos and client presentations related to Product Development
  • Carrying out market research for development opportunities 
  • Carrying out competitive product analysis 
  • Sourcing product/solution options and partners 
  • Collaborating with labs & universities for development work 
  • Undertaking practical testing & prototyping of products
  • Attending and supporting on-site testing 
  • Reporting on testing completed
  • Technical data sheet creation 

Candidate Profile:

  • Appropriate degree/post graduate degree in a subject relevant to industrial paints, chemicals or civil engineering materials.
  • Experience working within an industrial/contracting environment and able to demonstrate evidence of delivering projects with stakeholders desirable
  • Required to travel in the UK and Europe, working alongside contractors often during unsocial hours. 

Benefits Package:

  • Working hours are 7:30am-4:30pm, 22 days holiday, salary between £35,000 - £40,000 though potentially flexibility to go a little higher
